Don’t ask Nick Saban about Kirby Smart and UGA job

Word on the street is that Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is leaving the program to become the next head coach at Georgia, his alma mater, but don’t ask Nick Saban to confirm that.

The longtime Alabama head coach met with reporters yesterday in one of many press conferences leading up to Saturday’s SEC Championship Game against Florida and eventually got frustrated with all the Smart-related questions. Kyle Burger of WVTM 13, a local NBC affiliate, posted the following video to Twitter.

Despite Saban’s frustration, all signs are pointing to Smart heading to Athens. He played at Georgia and served as an assistant there two separate times, so being the Bulldogs’ head coach would be the next logical step.
