As Georgia preps itself for the start of the Kirby Smart Era, it’s not looking like current defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will be a part of it. According to Chase Goodbread of NFL.com, there is “zero chance” that Pruitt will be on Smart’s staff next year.
Per Saturday Down South, this is due to the fact that Pruitt and higher-ups in Georgia’s athletic department don’t exactly get along. But this is also something of a surprise, as Pruitt and Smart worked together under Nick Saban at Alabama for years.
Pruitt is still a rising name in college football and should have no problem finding another job but if this report is true, it’s certainly telling in terms of Georgia’s overall defensive performance in 2015.
