Nick Saban may have had to bid farewell to defensive coordinator Kirby Smart earlier this week, but he’s putting his foot down and trying everything in his power to keep his strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran from leaving, too.
As Smart has committed to taking over the University of Georgia program, he is attempting to bring Cochran with him to Athens.
Saban, however, is putting on the full court press, with promises of a significant raise, according to The Tuscaloosa News.
This coming after Cochran received a $25,000 raise in June, bringing his salary to $420,000.
We will have to see whether it is Saban or Cochran who gets his way, but we’d have to imagine Saban has the upper hand in these negotiations.
