Earlier this week, Alabama head coach Nick Saban was pretty upset with reporters asking him about the move of Kirby Smart, his defensive coordinator who was hired as Georgia’s head coach Monday. It was pretty clear that he did not want to talk about it as it could become a distraction to his team.
On Friday, however, it seemed as though Saban’s tone has changed. He was at a SEC Championship Game Press Conference when he seemed to get pretty emotional talking about Smart.
Smart has been working with Saban since the latter’s arrival in 2007, so it’s not a surprise that the two have a great relationship. Not only are the colleagues, they are also great friends.
