The Ohio State/Michigan game had a lot riding on it last weekend. The winner of the game would win the Big Ten East division with a loss by Michigan State later on in the day.
The game kicked off at 12, so many Buckeye, Wolverine, and Spartan fans likely tuned into the game since Michigan State didn’t take the field until 3:30. According to ESPN, the annual rivalry game is now known as the most-watched and highest-rated game of Week 13.
The game drew a 6.4 rating and it is tied for the second highest-rated game of the season. It is also the third most-watched game of the season as well.
The site also reported that it was ABC’s most-watched noon game since 1997 and the third most-watched Buckeye/Wolverine game in ABC history.
The game ended up being a laugher as the Buckeyes went on to win 42-13, so many of the Wolverine fans likely stopped watching late into the game as well. Let’s see if next year’s game lives up to the same hype.
