Rutgers student being backed for head coach

The hiring of the next head football coach at Rutgers University is expected to happen soon, and there is one candidate that is really picking up steam.

A 19-year student at the school is becoming the student favorite for the job with an online campaign. Ben Kautz submitted his resume to the school, and even received a response from the school’s senior associate athletic director.

Rutgers is coming off a season where they finished 1-7 in conference play, and missed the postseason for just the second time in 10 years. It may be worth the insane risk to hire someone who’s only football coaching experience comes in the form of video games.

He’s asking for minimum wage, which will save the school millions of dollars; his mom even called him a “good” coach at one time. I don’t know about you, but those credentials speak for themselves.

Hey, at least you know he’d take chances. Besides, he may relate to current players much more than an older coach would. I say give it a shot. What about you?
