Todd Gurley hasn’t hit rookie wall, according to Todd Gurley

The “rookie wall” is a phenomenon that people like to use to explain what they can’t really explain. Or maybe it is a real thing. Nonetheless, it’s usually thrown around when we see a rookie have a sudden and dramatic drop in performance.

Enter Todd Gurley.

After setting the NFL on fire with four straight games with over 125 yards rushing, the fire he set has been put out to say the least. In the four starts after his first four with those 125+, he’s managed only 219.

Needless to say, people are asking about this rookie wall, to which Gurley says, “What wall? I’m good.”

Never mind the fact that he is the Rams offense, therefore teams are focusing all their attention on him. That is what the NFL does, they adjust and try to stop what opposing teams are doing well.

And since Nick Foles was doing so well he lost his job, teams naturally focused on stopping Gurley.

Maybe he hasn’t hit the rookie wall, rather he’s just been properly introduced to the NFL.
