Apparently Will Muschamp is pretty confident he’s going to land the job as head coach of the University of South Carolina football program.

Reason being that he’s already reaching out to candidates to be on his coaching staff, and one of those candidates is former Gamecock star running back Marcus Lattimore.

A source close to Lattimore The State that Muschamp had spoken with school President Harris Pastides, and Pastides had indicated to Muschamp that, “they’re going to try to get this thing done as soon as possible.”

Lattimore currently is an ambassador for the program as he is pursuing the completion of his degree, and has indicated in the past that he wouldn’t be interested in coaching college football, due to the time commitment.

Still, the source said that the offer from Muschamp is intriguing to Lattimore, according to The State.
