Failed fake punt leads to UNC TD to take lead

-

The Clemson Tigers have looked nearly perfect in their conference championship game against the North Carolina Tar Heels. They were leading 14-9 late in the second quarter when they lined up to punt to ball back to their opponents.

Punter Andy Teasdall then made one of the dumbest mistakes of his lifetime. He tried to run up and do a rugby-style punt when he thought he could run and make a first down.

The bad thing was that it was fourth and 15 and head coach Dabo Swinney didn’t call the play. He was not very happy with his punter on the sidelines.

The Tigers took advantage of that mistake and went down the field to score just a few players later. They now lead 16-14 with under two minutes left in the half.

I’m sure Teasdall will never make that mistake again.
