Providence beats URI on last-second putback

No. 23 Providence beat the A-10’s Rhode Island Rams tonight on a last-second putback dunk by big man Ben Bentil. Check out the highlight below!

Bentil also led the Friars with 23 points to go with eight rebounds, and Providence pulled off the win despite shoddy three-point defense along with bad three-point shooting. Rhode Island also out-rebounded them 33-26.

Despite the ugly win, Providence is still very much a team to watch with a record of 8-1. The season is still young, but Ed Cooley’s boys have showed that they aren’t going away any time soon.

Providence will look to improve to 9-1 when it hosts Boston College on Wednesday, while Rhode Island will face the undefeated Houston Cougars at home on Tuesday.
