Stanford leading tackler injured, may not play in PAC-12 Championship

The Stanford Cardinal are looking to win the PAC-12 Championship and possibly make a case for the College Football Playoff. They play the USC Trojans, who are are on fire at this point in the season, and they may have to do it without one of their best defensive players.

FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported that linebacker Blake Martinez injured his ankle in practice earlier this week and that he his now doubtful for the game tonight. He is the leading tackler for the Cardinal this season.

Martinez has started all 12 games for the Cardinal and has 121 tackles on the year. That is 72 more than the second-leading tackler Kodi Whitfield’s 49 and his tackle for loss total is more than anyone else’s total tackles for the team.

He would certainly be missed if he can’t go tonight. The game kicks off on ESPN at 7:45 p.m. EST.
