Texas after TCU’s Sonny Cumbie for OC

-

According to Horns247, Sonny Cumbie is being heavily targeted by Texas coach Charlie Strong to fill their offensive coordinator opening.

Cumbie, the former Texas Tech quarterback, has served as co-offensive coordinator  for the TCU Horned Frogs since 2014.  He started his coaching career at his alma mater and climbed from graduate assistant to Kliff Kingsbury’s co-offensive coordinator and QB coach.

Multiple reports claim that Texas will offer Cumbie a yearly salary of at least $1 million which would make Cumbie one of the highest paid coordinators in the country.

If Texas can lure Cumbie from TCU, he would assume all duties as offensive coordinator including play calls for the 2016 season.
