The Texas Longhorns have a surprising 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter against the tenth-ranked Baylor Bears. Late in the first quarter, the Bears threw an interception and one of their players seemed to let his frustration get the best of him.
Wide receiver Lynx Hawthorne slammed Duke Thomas a few seconds after the whistle on the Texas sideline. That sparked the Texas players to get riled up and started jawing with the Baylor offense.
Then, all hell broke loose as the rest of the Bears cleared the bench and went across the field.
Luckily, the referees got a handle on it and no one had to be ejected. The Bears were penalized for entering the field of play, however.
I can’t blame the team for being upset, however. They need a win in this game if they want a shot at making a New Year’s Six bowl game.
