Kirby Smart was officially introduced as the Georgia Bulldogs’ new head coach on Sunday. Despite him still coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide’s defense through the College Football Playoff, he has wasted little time getting to work on his coaching staff in Athens.
It’s pretty clear that neither offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer nor defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will be in Athens next year. Smart is apparently not trying to look to far to find his new coaches.
According to reports, Smart called Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema and asked about offensive coordinator Dan Enos. Bielema said he couldn’t talk to him because of Enos’s non-compete clause in the SEC.
Bielema: Kirby (Smart) called me earlier this morning to ask permission to talk to Dan. Enos has a no-compete clause w/SEC teams.

Enos spent five seasons at Central Michigan as the head coach before heading to Little Rock under Bielema. With the way that offense ran this year, it’s safe to say that Enos has done a good job.
It looks like he will continue to do a good job there and not in Athens.
