Michigan DL coach Greg Mattison to be DC in bowl game

Less than a week ago, former Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin was named the new head coach at Maryland. The Wolverines haven’t found their new guy going forward, but they surely know who will be their guy for the bowl game.

The Wolverines have a tough matchup with the Florida Gators in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on January 1. According to reports, Jim Harbaugh said that defensive line coach Greg Mattison will step up into Durkin’s role in the game.

That game is surely going to be fun. The Gators have had a pretty good offense all year with Kelvin Taylor and Antonio Callaway leading the charge, while the Wolverines were known for their defense as they had outscored opponents 98-0 in a stretch of three games.
