Oklahoma tops FiveThirtyEight’s national title odds

The College Football Playoff pairings were released on Sunday and it wasn’t a surprise to see the four teams that made it in. The two semifinal games should be fun to watch on December 31, but until then it’s just fun to speculate.

The Las Vegas early lines for the games were released and they have the Oklahoma Sooners and Alabama Crimson Tide favored in those games. ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight also released their odds for who would get to the national title game and who would win it all and they seem to agree with Vegas.

It should be noted that these odds are largely based on ESPN’s FPI rankings, which the Sooners have topped for the past six weeks. I don’t see the Spartan or Tiger fan bases buying into this.

In fact, it may just fire them up more than anything.
