It is pretty clear that new Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is changing up the coaching staff in Athens right now and the most recent report may be the biggest move he has made to date. Not only does it look like Georgia will have a new offensive coordinator, they may have a new quarterback as well.
According to reports, the Bulldogs are expected to hire Kentucky offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson to the same position. It was also reported that Patrick Towles, who announced his intentions to transfer two weeks ago, will follow him to Athens.
In three years at Kentucky, Towles threw for 5,099 yards, 24 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He seemed to have a good future after a promising 2014 season when he went for 2,718 yards, 14 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while rushing for 303 yards and six touchdowns.
This would certainly create a coup for the Bulldogs as they have both Brice Ramsey and Greyson Lambert returning for next season as well as possibly having five-star recruit Jacob Eason.
