It is looking more and more like the Texas Longhorns will soon have a new offensive coordinator and they aren’t going very far to get him. For the last few weeks, TCU co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie has been the talk of possibly leaving the team to take a head coaching position or another OC job somewhere.
According to Anwar Richardson from Orangebloods.com, Cumbie was in Austin Monday morning meeting with Charlie Strong and administrators. There was also reports that he could soon be named the new offensive coordinator for the Longhorns soon.
If Cumbie is to take this job, it would be his third different job inside the Big 12 since his NFL playing career ended. He coached at his Alma Mater Texas Tech from 2009-2013 and took the OC job at TCU last season.
