Kirby Smart is the new head football coach at Georgia, and the university higher-ups are beyond excited for a few reasons.
First of all, Smart is the former defensive coordinator at Alabama and thus gives the Bulldogs something of an advantage against the Tide going forward, especially if Nick Saban remains head coach.
Moreover, Smart is a Georgia alum and played football for the Bulldogs, so this is a homecoming for him. As a result, it’s only natural that a tweet with a hype video read “Welcome home, Coach!”

Smart has already been welcomed with open arms by recruits and should hit the ground running even more once Alabama’s season is over, as he is staying with the program through the College Football Playoff.
Needless to say, once he’s fully settled in Athens, Georgia football is going to be highly exciting to watch.
