One of the most anticipated bowl matchups this season is without a doubt the Peach Bowl that features Florida State facing off against Houston on December 31. The two teams are vastly different and it should be a fun game to watch.
Despite it being a touted as a great game, it sure doesn’t seem like fans will have to pay much to get to the game. According to Tomahawk Nation, tickets for the Peach Bowl are going as low as $18 on StubHub, which is astronomically lower than the rest of the New Year’s Six bowl games.
This price may have something to do with the Houston fan base. The school has had problems with attendance the last few years, so it was expected that prices would plummet, but nobody would have expected this especially since the next lowest price for tickets is $114 at the Fiesta Bowl. Houston head coach Tom Herman even spoke out the attendance problems in late October.
“To me,” Herman said, “we’re not selling out every home game. I would ask why? What more do you need to see? You need a better product on field or more exciting game? I’m confused when I ask Cougar Nation why are you not at every home game? I get some blank stares sometimes because the answer is ‘Coach, I don’t have a reason.’ There isn’t a good reason.”
Right now, the Seminoles are asking $150 for tickets if bought through the school and for that price, fans can get much better seats at the game.
