Sonny Cumbie turns down Texas OC job, will stay at TCU

-

Sonny Cumbie had the opportunity to leave his co-offensive coordinator role with the TCU Horned Frogs to become the sole offensive coordinator with the Texas Longhorns.

Cumbie mulled the offer for a couple of days, before ultimately deciding against joining Charlie Strong’s staff.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Cumbie has turned down the offensive coordinator role with the Longhorns and he will instead remain with the Horned Frogs.

With Cumbie no longer in the running for the job, the Longhorns will reportedly turn their attention to Sterlin Gilbert, who currently serves in the same role with Tulsa.
