Boston sports fan helps recruit David Price to sign with the Red Sox

Think your team needs a free agent? Then do what Red Sox fan Jared Carrabis did and start blogging, get a twitter, troll your free agent target for a couple years, become friends and then make the pitch.

Of course, it helps if you are a fan of one of the biggest clubs in baseball, and your team throws $217 million at the player.

All those things came together and as we saw, David Price signed with Boston, even giving Carrabis a shout out at his introductory press conference.

My brain is still trying to process that this actually happened. #BunkBeds @DAVIDprice24 pic.twitter.com/aYa3gW0HNS

Initially Carrabis trolled Price on Twitter on how he couldn’t handle David Ortiz. Then over the course of a couple years and after being blocked, Carrabis planted the seed and the two struck up a Twitter friendship.

@DAVIDprice14 Stick to the plan, David. If you get traded, no extension, go to free agency, sign with Boston, become global superstar.

Team president Sam Kennedy even gave Caraibis some credit.

If @Jared_Carrabis can recruit a free agent via @twitter we can reward the best fans in @MLB with some #GiftOfSox! https://t.co/xyT4PnrygR

Pretty sure if Carrabis wanted to run for Governor of Massachusetts, he could have a shot at winning.
