For the last month and a half, Alabama running back Derrick Henry has been at the top of the list when it comes to the Heisman Trophy odds. The finalists were revealed on Monday and Henry was unsurprisingly one of the three.
The most recent odds for the award were released by Bovada and Henry is once again the favorite. However, according to College Football Talk, Henry is currently sitting pretty as a 1/12 favorite in the odds, which is a ridiculous number.
Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey is second right now at 6/1 odds as he has jumped up from 50/1 just two weeks ago. Right now, it is almost guaranteed that a running back will win the Trophy for the first time since 2009.
That year was the last year that a quarterback wasn’t in the top two in the finalist voting and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson currently sits at 22/1 odds. That year, Mark Ingram won, Toby Gerhart finished second, and Colt McCoy finished third.
Isn’t a coincidence that an Alabama running back, a Stanford running back, and quarterback from a team who’s primary color is orange could be sitting in the same order this year as well?
