J.J. Watt breaks hand in practice, will play Sunday

The Houston Texans are at a critical point in their season right now as they are sitting at 6-6 and trying to increase their lead in the AFC South. They can ill-afford to suffer any major injuries and it looks like they had a pretty big scare this week.

Defensive end J.J. Watt announced in a press conference that he had broken his hand during practice this week. He was seen at the press conference wearing a cast on his left hand, but he did say he will play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Watt: "I broke my hand at practice yesterday and I will play in the game on Sunday."

Watt was a big favorite for the MVP award in the NFL last season and he has been a big part of the Texans’ success again this year. He has recorded 59 tackles and 10.5 sacks as well as a forced fumble.
