Malcolm Mitchell named captain of 2015 Allstate Good Works team

For more than a decade, Allstate has been a big sponsor of college football, donating money to their scholarship funds every year. The company has also sponsored a team that selects college football players from all levels that exude good character both on and off the field.

The 2015 Good Works Team was released recently and it features players like James Conner of Pitt to Dalton Screws of Jacksonville State. Georgia’s Malcolm Mitchell was recently named the captain of the team, making him the first Bulldog to do so.

Congrats to @Money_Mitch26! UGA's first Allstate #GoodWorks captain!

Mitchell has been a big proponent of working with children in the recent past, including writing his own children’s book. He is without a doubt a great choice to be captain.

“Malcolm inspires children and adults alike with his passion for reading, so Allstate is thrilled to see his local community and fans across the country support his efforts with their votes,” said Thomas Clarkson, president of the west territory for Allstate Insurance Company.

“We are proud to highlight the strong commitment to community service demonstrated by Malcolm and all members of this year’s Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® who work to make a difference both on and off the football field.”

Mitchell has continued to show that he is one of the best examples of a what an athlete should strive to be. There is no question that he deserved this honor.

Congratulations to Malcolm and the rest of the 2015 Allstate Good Works Team.
