Scott Frost will not coach Oregon offense in Alamo Bowl

When assistant coaches take jobs with new teams, a lot of the times they will finish out the season with their current teams. That doesn’t seem to be the case in Eugene as it was reported that former Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost will not coach in the Ducks’ bowl game.

Frost took the head coaching position at UCF just two weeks ago and now he won’t be available for the Alamo Bowl against TCU. Andrew Greif of The Oregonian reported the news, saying that head coach Mark Helfrich confirmed it to him.

"Scott will not be involved in our game," Helfrich said of Scott Frost's role in the Alamo Bowl.

The Ducks should be fine without Frost at the helm of the offense. Helfrich was the Ducks’ offensive coordinator under Chip Kelly, so he will likely be able to run things in Frost’s absence.

The Alamo Bowl takes place on January 2 at 6:45 p.m. on ESPN.
