It’s been a wild college basketball season so far and this weekend provided us with yet another upset to start the year. On Saturday night, the Texas Longhorns were able to get their first big win of the Shaka Smart era by knocking off No. 3-ranked North Carolina with a buzzer beater from Javan Felix.
Felix finished as the game’s leading-scorer with 25 points on the night. The guard added three rebounds and an assist. Marcus Paige was the leading scorer for the Tar Heels with 20 points.
The big difference on the night was Texas’ dominance on the boards.
In what was a very close game, the Longhorns’ toughing it out in the paint made all of the difference — including the offensive rebound to set up the game-winner.
