After Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton left Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a thumb injury, it was officially time for A.J. McCarron to get in on the action.
And it didn’t take long for the former Alabama quarterback to make an impact.
On a 1st and 10 from the 34 yard line, McCarron heaved the ball deep to star wide receiver A.J. Green down the sideline. Green made the catch, broke away from two Pittsburgh defenders and made it to the endzone. The pass was McCarron’s first career touchdown pass.

It’s been a great weekend for Alabama football after running back Derrick Henry took home the Heisman Trophy on Saturday. It’ll only get better if McCarron can lead his team to a comeback victory and an AFC North division title.
