College football fans have been closely watching the recruiting process of five-star quarterback Jacob Eason, who is one of the top signal-callers in the Class of 2016.
Eason has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, but that commitment was up in the air following the departure of head coach Mark Richt. Following Richt and the Bulldogs reaching a “mutual agreement” for the coach to step down, Eason’s recruitment was once again open.
There was an official visit with the Florida Gators that was troubling to some in Athens, but everyone wanting a decision should have one this week. The final decision will come down to the SEC rivals.
“Both places are pro-style offenses, they are both SEC East schools, we like both coaching staffs, we are so far away from those two schools, we have not been caught up in all the rivalry between them yet,” Eason’s father, Tony, said.
And as far as Eason’s father is concerned, a decision has likely already been made.
“I think there is one made, but we are going to look at it a little more and I think something should be out soon,” the elder Eason said, via Campus Insiders.
Eason is likely ready for his recruitment to come to an end.
It will be interesting to see where he ultimately decides to go, with early playing time being a realistic option at both schools. Only time will tell, and luckily that decision is rapidly approaching.
