Report: Brian Schottenheimer won’t coach in bowl game

This past weekend, Georgia announced it had hired Jim Chaney as its new offensive coordinator for the 2015 season. The team really needed a change for their offense as they were ranked 84th in the country in scoring at just 26.5 points per game this year.

It was already reported that Georgia assistant coach Bryan McClendon will coach the team in their bowl game, but it was not clear if offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer would be with the team.

After the hiring of Chaney this weekend, Schottenheimer confirmed that he would not be with the team going forward.

This probably won’t upset too many fans as it was pretty clear Schottenheimer wouldn’t be around much longer. The Bulldogs take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in the TaxSlayer Bowl on January 2 at 12 noon EST on ESPN.
