Wisconsin redshirt sophomore guard Riley Dearring has been granted his release from the program and will transfer elsewhere, according to an AP report. Longtime Badgers head coach Bo Ryan also made an announcement yesterday.
Dearring, a former three-star recruit from Minneapolis, was a non-factor during his two years in Madison and averaged less than a point a game while receiving barely any playing time. He was a candidate for more minutes this season, but could not beat out freshman Kahlil Iverson for more minutes behind Bronson Koenig and Zak Showalter.
Dearring also discussed his decision on Twitter.
