Jameis Winston youngest QB to ever reach 3,000 passing yards

So far, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is proving his worth as the number one pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He has done a terrific job for the team this year and they have already triple their win total from last season with three games still left to go.

In Sunday’s 24-17 loss to NFC South rival, the New Orleans Saints, Winston threw for 182 yards and a touchdown. That was a good enough day to push Winston’s season total to 3,057 yards, making him the youngest quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards, according to the team’s official website.

Winston is the thirteenth rookie to reach that mark and the list includes some pretty successful names like Peyton Manning, Cam Newton, and Andrew Luck. Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota can also join Winston with 214 yards over the last three games of the year.

Winston is also just eight touchdowns away from tying Manning and Wilson’s rookie record of 26. The Buccaneers are 6-7 right now and it’s unlikely that they will be able to sneak into the playoffs.

However, the team has found a very good quarterback in Winston and should be proud of what he has done this year and will do for them in the future.
