Robert Nkemdiche releases statement, apologizes for hotel incident

Ole Miss star defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche made headlines over the weekend when he fell 15 feet out the window of an Atlanta hotel and though he ended up extremely lucky to have walked away with nothing more than some bumps and bruises, local authorities found rolled joints in his room and charged him with marijuana possession.

As a result, Nkemdiche released a statement today and apologized for his actions.

Nkemdiche has denied using marijuana, but this still does not bode well for his immediate future. Once lauded as a top-of-the-line NFL Draft prospect, teams could wind up shying away if he proves to have extensive off-field issues. Not only that, but he could end up being suspended for Ole Miss’ matchup against Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day at the very least.

In the meantime, stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on Nkemdiche and his future.
