Arizona State will be without leading rebounder Savon Goodman against UNLV tonight according to multiple reports, including one by Scott Phillips of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk. No reason has been given for why Goodman will miss tonight’s game, but he is also expected to miss at least three more games for what has been described as “personal reasons.”
Goodman will thus not have the chance to show his former team what he has accomplished with the Sun Devils. The former four-star forward from Philadelphia spent a season as a rotational player for the Runnin’ Rebels before opting to transfer and is averaging 12.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 61 percent from the floor. That’s not at all bad for someone just 6-foot-6, 220 pounds.
Arizona State will thus turn to 6-foot-10 Eric Jacobsen as the team looks to improve to 7-3 against UNLV, who have started 8-2. Hopefully, the team does not crumble without Goodman for the foreseeable future.
