Bowling Green junior defensive lineman Mike Minns is facing a rather serious charge following an incident at an off-campus restaurant, the Toledo Blade reported.
Minns was arrested after police said the Falcon lineman “surreptitiously placed a controlled substance into [a female] victim’s beverage” on Nov. 22. Minns’ actions were reportedly caught on surveillance video, according to the Blade.
As a result, Minns has been suspended by the team and was charged with corrupting another with drugs.
“Following notification of the charges,” a statement from the school began, “Michael Minns II has been suspended indefinitely from the football program. The university has also begun an investigation through its student conduct process.”
Minns started 11 games for the Falcons this season. He redshirted in 2014 after starting 14 games in 2012 and 2013.
Bowling Green plays Georgia Southern in the GoDaddy Bowl in Mobile, Ala. on Dec. 23.
