Bo Ryan has decided to retire immediately and many Wisconsin Badgers took to social media to react to the news and send messages to their coach.

Wisconsin Badgers players react to Bo Ryan’s retirement

Bo Ryan is one of the best head coaches in the college basketball world in recent memory, but he officially retired from the Wisconsin Badgers immediately in the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday. The news was a bit shocking, although there were rumors ahead of the season that he was already considering retirement.

Wisconsin is going to miss Ryan in a big way moving forward and it will be hard to replace him.

Throughout the 15 years that Ryan coached the Badgers, he compiledĀ a 364-130 record. He also led the Badgers to the NCAA Tournament in every season that he coached.

Last season, he led Wisconsin to a second place finish.

Following the news that he has decided to retire from coaching, some of Ryan’s former players took to social media to wish him well. Some of the message were heartfelt. Here are a few of the best.

Exceptional coach but even a better man. Thanks for everything over the years Coach Ryan. Enjoy retirement you deserve it.
