Wisconsin Badgers star running back Corey Clement will return in 2016 to finish out his senior season before entering the NFL Draft.

Wisconsin Badgers RB Corey Clement returning in 2016

Corey Clement was expected to enter the 2016 NFL Draft earlier this year, but he has decided against doing so. According to a report from College Football Talk, Clement will be returning for his senior season in 2016. Wisconsin couldn’t be happier with this decision and it is the right move for Clement.

During the 2015 college football season, Clement ended up carrying the football just 29 times for 155 yards and four touchdowns.

Injuries played a big part in his down season and he never seemed to get past them. He does have the talent to be an NFL back at some point in the future, but staying another season will up his value in a big way.

Wisconsin running backs coach John Settle talked about the decision and why he agrees with it.

“He knows he can’t leave,” Settle said. “I was relieved because as a coach you don’t want to see a guy make a bad decision. The fact he wasn’t healthy and struggled through the year…you look at his body of work and you say it would be great if you could come back and stay healthy and carry the load. So I was happy to hear that. And if he wants to make a Heisman run, he knows what he has to do.”
