Home Football ACC 2017 4-star QB Chase Brice commits to Clemson Tigers

2017 4-star QB Chase Brice commits to Clemson Tigers

-

Chase Brice is a four-star quarterback in the 2017 college football recruiting class and had many teams trying to convince him to commit to them. He took to his personal Twitter account yesterday to announce that he has decided to play his college football for the Clemson Tigers.

Making that commitment is a huge deal for Brice, as he will have a chance to be the immediate successor for Deshaun Watson. Watson will be entering his senior season in Brice’s freshman year, which will give the talented young quarterback a chance to learn from behind one of the best.

Brice isn’t the only 2017 quarterback that has decided to commit to Clemson. Five-star quarterback Hunter Johnson will be joining the Tigers in 2017 as well after flipping his commitment from Tennessee to Clemson.

It will be very intriguing to see whether Brice or Johnson ends up being the next starter after Watson.

Dabo Swinney has to be feeling very good about his chances to build a powerhouse with Clemson. He has used this seasons success to bolster his recruiting classes and obviously it is working with the quarterbacks. Clemson is currently the No. 1 ranked team in the playoffs as they get set to open their College Football Playoff run against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Expect to see Brice be a big piece for the Tigers long-term, although he is giving himself a tough challenge going up against the other talent that Clemson will have at his position.
