The Memphis Tigers have a new head coach in Mike Norvell and it looks like they will be getting a new quarterback for next year as well. It’s pretty apparent that Paxton Lynch will be heading to the NFL, so they will have to look for a new guy under center.
Riley Ferguson spent one season with the Tennessee Volunteers before leaving for the JUCO ranks. He had a decent 2015 season as he was ranked as a three-star prospect and the top-rated pro-style QB in the JUCO ranks.
Norvell announced on Wednesday that Ferguson had signed with the Tigers.
Great day to be a Memphis Tiger. Excited to have @tha_truth_104 joining the TigerFam. Ready to take the #NextStep

Ferguson will now compete with Brady Davis and fellow 2016 signee Keon Howard for the starting job next season. This season at Coffeyville Community College, Ferguson threw for just under 3,000 yards, 35 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
