I can almost guarantee the Texas A&M Aggies didn’t expect to be where they are right now. The team has lost their two primary options at quarterback as both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray have announced their intentions to transfer.
It looks like neither one of them will play in the team’s upcoming Music City Bowl game against Louisville. Either Jake Hubenak or Conner McQueen will take over the starting position for the final game of the Aggies’ tumultuous season.
If there is one person either of these two would love to have the support of, it’s former A&M star and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. He tweeted out an inspirational message to the two guys who will fight it out the next two weeks for the starting job.
Hubenak threw for 92 yards and a touchdown this year, while McQueen saw no action this year. It’s likely Hubenak will get the start, but you can never tell with the way things have gone in College Station lately.
The Aggies take the field against the Cardinals on December 30 at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN.
