St. Louis Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley may have hit something of a rookie wall over the past few weeks, but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that he has still had a fine rookie season in reaching the 1,000 yard rushing mark.
In last night’s 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gurley rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown to give himself 1,023 yards and nine rushing touchdowns on the season. That’s pretty impressive considering the fact that Gurley missed the first two games of the season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during his final season at Georgia.
But no matter how you look at it, it’s clear that the Rams have a special talent in the young player they drafted with the 10th overall pick in last spring’s draft.
Gurley is still learning the game and has some adjustments to make, but for the most part looks just how the Rams hoped he would after drafting him.
Here’s to Gurley’s first 1,000 yard season and, hopefully, many more.
