Duke wearing 1960s throwback helmets for Pinstripe Bowl

The Duke Blue Devils started off as one of the more surprising teams in the country this year as they competed for an ACC Coastal Division championship for the first part of the season. However, the team fell off late and finished the year 7-5.

They now look to cap off a big season with a win in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, which will be their first since the 1960s. They are channeling that era as they just revealed throwback helmets for their game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Blue Devils last won a bowl game with a win over Arkansas in the 1961 Cotton Bowl. These helmets were worn between 1966-1969 according to nationalchampions.net.

it is certainly going to be a fun game for the Blue Devils and for everyone watching. However, I am sure a lot more people would love to see this matchup on the hardwood as opposed to the gridiron.

What do you think, Blue Devil fans? Do you like this look?
