Ball State Cardinals HC Pete Lembo to join Maryland staff

-

Pete Lembo has been the Ball State Cardinals’ head football coach for the last five seasons, but his tenure there is coming to an end. According to a report from Bruce Feldman, Lembo is resigning from Ball State to become an assistant coach for the Maryland Terrapins under D.J. Durkin.

This is yet another huge pickup for Maryland as Durkin is doing his best to put together a star-studded coaching staff. Lembo may not be a huge name, but he is a very smart coach and will be missed greatly by Ball State.

Lembo finished his career with the Cardinals with a 33-29 record. He had a rough 2015 campaign, finishing just 3-9 on the season. Just a few years back in 2013, Lembo led the Cardinals to a 10-3 record with Keith Wenning as his quarterback, but that success was short-lived.

Ball State will immediately begin their search for a new head coach.
