Leonard Fournette reveals why football saved his life

For many young men growing up in impoverished neighborhoods, sports can be the best and sometimes their only way to keep from ending up in trouble. LSU running back Leonard Fournette grew up in the Ninth Ward in New Orleans and that term would certainly describe that part of the city.

He has kept out of trouble in his life and has turned into one of the best running backs the college football world has seen in the last ten decades and a surefire top ten pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He tweeted out that he believes football saved his life.

When asked why by ESPN’s Marty Smith, he gave a pretty straightforward answer.

That certainly puts things into perspective when you think of the career Fournette has ahead of him. You can’t help but want to congratulate him on all the things he has accomplished and will.
