Class of 2016 four-star wide receiver Bryan Edwards has signed his financial aid papers and will enroll at South Carolina in January, according to Sam Spiegelman of SEC Country.
Edwards, a former star at Conway High School in the Myrtle Beach area, joins what is looking like a stacked recruiting class for first-year Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp. On top of Edwards, South Carolina will also welcome four-star quarterback Brandon McIlwain, JUCO transfer Jamarcus King and three-star running back C.J. Freeman.
Edwards won’t get to work on the field immediately after suffering a knee injury back in October, but it should be noted that he posted 53 catches for 969 yards and nine scores prior to that. He was a finalist for the state’s Mr. Football and also had offers from Clemson, Georgia and Florida, plus many others.
Needless to say, after a lost 2015, 2016 could end up being a fine rebound year for South Carolina.
