UGA assistant to become Gamecocks co-offensive coordinator

Another member of the Georgia Bulldogs coaching staff has left.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Georgia’s Bryan McClendon, who is serving as the team’s interim head coach against the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Taxslayer Bowl, will be leaving to join Will Muschamp’s staff at South Carolina.

After the bowl game, McClendon will begin his duties as the Gamecocks’ new co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Bryan McClendon named South Carolina's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach; Pat Washington named tight ends coach.

As has been noted, McClendon was a very key member of Mark Richt’s staff thanks to his success as a big time recruiter.

Losing Bryan McClendon is huge for UGA. Stars he's recruited: Nick Chubb, Keith Marshall, Lorenzo Carter, Isaiah Crowell and Todd Gurley

You can’t help but to be impressed with the staff Muschamp is putting together at South Carolina.

If the hires pan out, the Gamecocks could once again be a major player in the SEC sooner rather than later.
