Bill Cubit completes 2016 coaching staff

The Illinois football staff has undergone significant turnover since the end of the 2015 season, and it seems that head coach Bill Cubit has found all the coaches he wants. According to The News-Gazette, Tim McGargile will coach linebackers and Paul Williams will be coaching defensive backs.

McGargile is a former Saint Louis Rams draft pick, who after a season with the Rams coached for Northwestern before coaching linebackers at Western Michigan. He stayed with the Broncos for the Bahamas Bowl, but will immediately being joining the Illini.

Now complete, the Illionois football staff looks like this:

– Offensive Coordinator: Ryan Cubit

– Running backs: Nathan Scheelhaase

– Wide receivers: Mike Bellamy

– Tight ends/special teams: Jeff Hecklinski

 – Offensive line: A.J. Ricker

– Defensive Coordinator: Mike Phair

– Inside linebackers: Tim McGarigle

– Outside linebackers: Al Seamonson

– Defensive backs: Paul Williams

Now that Cubit has redone his coaching staff, let’s see if he can transform the 2016 Illini into contenders.
