Indiana K releases statement following controversial call in bowl game

The New Era Pinstripe Bowl was one of the most entertaining bowl games of the season as it was an offensive showdown. The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 44-41 in overtime as the latter team lost on a controversial missed field goal call.

Indiana kicker Griffin Oakes just barely missed a field goal to send the game into a second overtime and from different camera angles, it looked like the kick could have been called good. Following the game, Oakes, who was clearly upset by the call, talked about how he should have never made a kick that close in the first place.

The Hoosiers fell to 6-7 on the loss, but they certainly have a good chance of getting to a bowl game next year after the fight they showed in Saturday’s game.
