Video: Cops pull over drivers on Christmas to give them presents

Cops have been in the news this year for — more often than not — some unfortunate reasons, but this story from Christmas weekend has to bring a smile to your face.

In a video shared on YouTube, you see members of the New York Police Department random drivers in the Bronx for no reason at all. Rather than citing the drivers or giving them a ticket, they were approaching the vehicles simply to give out Christmas gifts.

The crime — which was punishable by receiving a free toy — was “driving with a kid on Christmas Eve and not getting a gift.”

“We just wanted to make some people smile, see if we can brighten their day,” said Officer Salley. “This means a lot to me to be able to do that, since I grew up in this neighborhood.”

It’s a great feel-good story as your weekend comes to an end.
