The Maryland Terrapins concluded their head coaching search earlier this month when they decided to hire Michigan Wolverines defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin.
However, it appears as though there were a number of candidates considered before Durkin that did not reciprocate that interest.
According to 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore, there were 14 coaches who turned down the job.
There is no word on the exact candidates that were considered for the vacancy, but it does show that the team may have “settled” on hiring Durkin.
Regardless of how the coaching search played out, as long as Durkin is successful on the field, it will have proven to be a success.
